Mr Brown has the enormous privilege of teaching our enthusiastic Year 5/6 Banksy class. Bringing his own distinctive approach to the classroom, he creates a fun, fresh and stimulating learning environment, supported by Mrs Tweddle and Mrs Pickering. His teaching is underpinned by a genuine passion for science and the performing arts, which enriches learning and helps pupils see the excitement and relevance of what they study.

Mr Brown knows that happy children learn most effectively. He is a strong advocate for promoting positivity, aspiration and independence within a classroom culture of challenge and progress, all set against a rich and ambitious curriculum. Effort and success are recognised, valued and celebrated.

Both year groups benefit from a broad and balanced curriculum that includes the performing arts, PSHE and the humanities, alongside the core academic subjects. The Year 5 pathway builds securely on prior learning, ensuring continued progress through the national curriculum in an engaging and dynamic way.

Year 6 pupils are supported both academically and holistically, with high expectations and careful preparation for the compulsory national Standard Assessment Tests in May each year. Mr Brown leaves no stone unturned in ensuring that every child arrives at SATs week confident, well-prepared and ready to succeed.

As they progress through Banksy class, our young people develop character, resilience and a healthy sense of self-worth, alongside a sense of humour and curiosity about the world. This strong foundation supports a smooth transition to secondary school and sets them up for success in the future.
